Overview

This VRQ is for technicians who maintain hybrid vehicles and the hybrid system itself. It contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely in and around the vehicle’s hybrid system. On completion of this qualification, technicians will be assessed to practically demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills required for repairing vehicles with high voltage hybrid technologies. It allows learners to develop the knowledge and skills required to work safely around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system.

*This course runs from Monday to Wednesday. Learners will be allocated a slot on the 4th day to perform a practical test (Thursday or the Friday). You will study theory for two and a half days and work on practical tasks for one and a half days including a practical assessment.

What topics will I study?

You will follow examples given in the course manual, working at your own pace, with guidance from an experienced member of staff who will be available at all times to help you gain confidence quickly.

Entry Requirements

Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components Individuals must have already completed the Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement. It is recommended that individuals also have a minimum of 6 months experience, or complete the Learner Eligibility form, providing evidence of related/relevant experience.
