About the College

Sunbeams Room - 0-2 Years

The room for our youngest children is spacious homely and welcoming, with a soft sensory area, easy access to toys and books. The room is designed so that the children have room to investigate and discover, be active and relax. The room is light and airy and the babies can see outside. The babies also have a separate garden area that is fenced off from the rest of the garden so they can play and explore in safety.

Room Staff

Gemma McNie

Gemma, Senior Nursery Nurse

I started working at the nursery in April 2017 and I am Level 3 qualified. Previously I worked at Butlins, where I worked my way up to become the deputy manager of the staff nursery. It was great fun taking the children swimming, to watch shows and meet characters. In my spare time I like to cook, socialise with friends and visit family.

Lindsey Baker

Lindsey, Nursery Nurse

I have been working at the nursery since September 2006 after achieving my level 3 national Diploma in Early years at Exeter College. I enjoy working with the babies. I particularly enjoy encouraging children to be artistic and imaginative through creative activities, exploring textures colours and space to create wonderful pictures. In my spare time I enjoy socialising with friends, swimming and trips to the cinema.

Courtney Sloper

Courtney, Nursery Assistant

I started working at the nursery in September 2014. I studied for 3 years at Exeter College as an apprentice and I have completed and achieved Level 3 Early Years Educator. Throughout the time that I have been working here I have experienced working in each of the rooms across the nursery, developing my skills and experience with each age group.

Amy Louise Riggs

Amy, Apprentice Nursery Assistant Level 2

I attended Clyst Vale Community College and I started my level 2 apprenticeship in childcare with the nursery on September 12th 2016. When I am older I would love to work with special needs children. I have always wanted to work with children from a young age. I enjoy playing and interacting with children as I want them to feel more confident with themselves. In my spare time I like to play rugby. I also like watching rugby on TV. At the weekend I like to spend time with my family and friends, either going to the cinema or going swimming.

Bethany Knott

Beth, Apprentice Nursery Assistant Level 2

I’m Beth and I am currently doing my level 2 apprenticeship. I am at the nursery every day during the week except Tuesday’s. I love creative activities, song time and reading stories to the children. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching movies and reading a good book.
