Exeter College run a subsidised travel pass scheme to get you from where you live to where you learn!

You are able to get an Exeter College travel pass if you:

  • will be over 16 and under 19 on the 1st September
  • will be studying on a full time course
  • live more than 3 miles from Exeter College

    If you are eligible you will automatically be sent information on the travel scheme from Exeter College Travel Team.

  • What transport does the scheme support?

    The College will subsidise a travel pass from the nearest public transport route to your home to get you to College. You will be given the opportunity to pick your route and form of public transport. You will need to make arrangements to get yourself to your chosen route.

  • How can I find out about route information including times?

    You can go online and work out your travel options by visiting traveline at or you can visit your nearest bus/rail station to get information. Alternatively there are useful travel links on the Exeter College website at

  • How much does it cost?

    The contribution you pay towards the cost of your travel pass is £580 per year.

  • Can I pay in instalments?

    Yes - You can pay by termly instalments of Term 1 Autumn £210, Term 2 Spring £210 and Term 3 Summer £190 (this includes a £10 admin fee per term).

  • Is there financial help towards travel?

  • Do I have to buy a travel pass?

    Of course not. The scheme has been set up, and is subsidised by the college to make travel cheaper for you. It is entirely up to you if want to use the College scheme, you are not obliged to apply for it.

  • How do I apply?

    All eligible students (new and returning students) will receive an invitation to join the College travel scheme once you have been given an offer for your chosen course. You will be invited to apply online and will need to complete an online application/payment. A subsidised travel pass can take between 3 - 4 weeks to process and you are responsible for your own travel costs while the pass is being produced. The College will communicate deadlines to ensure passes are received for the start of term.
