(Football) Men's England Colleges Football Squad Selection

Congratulations to Josh Concanen who has been selected to play for the England Colleges Football National Team in 2010. All players will be informed in the next 10 days about squad selection for the first match of the season against Australia which is being played at AFC Telford on Thursday 4th February 2010.

Josh is in the first year of a BTEC National Diploma in Performance and Excellence and is a member of the Men’s Football Development Centre at Exeter College. He came through Exeter City’s Centre of Excellence and also currently represents the U18 Exeter City squad.

Neil Saunders the sports Academy Football Head Coach said ‘ This is great news for Josh, his family and everyone involved in the College Football programme. He was unfortunate not to gain an apprenticeship with Exeter City after coming through their Centre of Excellence, but after this disappointment, his hard work, attitude and commitment, have been rewarded with National recognition, which he thoroughly deserves. Out of the 22 player selected there are 7 south West players in the squad which shows football in this area is very strong’.
