Public Services Students Gain Experience Thanks to Police Protective Equipment

Public Services students are benefiting from hands-on experience of the type of kit they may go on to use in the future.

SafeGuard Clothing have donated a Police Armour vest which is being used to help students be career-ready for jobs in the public services.

Programme Leader Darren Goff said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Safeguard Armour who have provided us with a Police Armour vest, a crucial piece of potentially lifesaving clothing. The Armour Vest is used to bring learning to life, enhance the classroom experience and gives students an opportunity to try it on and get a real feel of the Public Service.”

The news comes after twenty students from the Public Services Level 2 and 3 courses came top in the Royal Navy Pier Cellars Inter College Resource and Initiative Challenge. Public Services learners develop the understanding, knowledge and skills to prepare for a range of potential careers in the public services, ranging from police to the Armed Forces, as well as wider community services.
