Skills for Life Professional Development

This section tells you about training courses for LLN (literacy, language (ESOL) and numeracy) subject specialist teachers, and for those supporting learners with their language, literacy and numeracy skills.

All specialist teachers of language, literacy and numeracy are required to gain a recognised teaching qualification and a subject specialist qualification. The Additional Diplomas (ADTLLS) are for specialist teachers, and the support qualifications for those in a support role. Please click here to find out more about generic teaching qualifications required by all teachers in the post-16 sector. It may be possible for you to combine these studies.
