Entry Requirements
You can find out what our entry requirements are by looking at our Higher Education Prospectus or by searching for individual courses.
What can I study with the qualifications I have?
The entry requirements show what UK qualifications we are looking for, however we do accept international-equivalent qualifications. You can find out what your qualifications are equivalent to by visiting www.naric.org.uk or contacting us on 0845 111 6000.
English is not my first language – what level of English do I need?
If your first language is not English we will ask you to provide evidence that your level of English is good enough to study a course with us. You can take an IELTS test to demonstrate your English level. You will need to have a minimum level of IELTS 6.0 for our higher education courses – some courses require a higher level – please check the course entry requirements for more details. If you have taken an English Language Test that is not IELTS we may still accept it, please contact us to discuss. For more information about IELTS or to find your nearest Test Centre please visit www.ielts.org.
What do I need to do to get a Tier 4 visa to study at Exeter College?
Exeter College is recognised by the UK Border Agency as being a Highly Trusted Sponsor. This means we can issue you a Certificate of Acceptance to Studies (often referred to as a CAS), which will then allow you to apply for a Tier 4 Student Visa. We will issue your CAS on receipt of your deposit. The deposit is £1000 sterling (2012/13).
You can find out more about Tier 4 from the UK Border Agency.
We strongly recommend that you research how the visa application works well in advance of starting your course and also read about other issues that may affect you such as preparing to come to the UK and Culture Shock. Please see our 'Useful Links' page for more information.
