Assessment and quality assurance qualifications (TAQA)

TAQA (Assessment and quality assurance) qualifications include stand-alone knowledge units, the full certificate for assessors, and the full certificate for the Quality Assurance role.

I need a specialist qualification to teach Numeracy and Literacy.

Specialist qualifications (Diplomas) in English/literacy and maths/numeracy

The Additional Diplomas are available to fully qualified teachers who need a subject specialist qualification to teach Skills for Life, Key Skills or Functional Skills in the sector.

Funding Information

Funding may be available via Student Finance England for the following programmes:

  • Cert Ed
  • PGCE
  • Additional Diploma

Bursaries are only available for the full-time teacher training programme and numbers of bursaries available are very limited in 2011-12.
