Airside Operations Management

How long is the course/training? This is a two-year, full-time course.

What will I be doing on the course/training?

This is the first airside operations management foundation degree and as such offers tremendous opportunities for all involved.  This new degree offers the opportunity to develop a truly work related foundation degree supported by a blended learning approach.  The programme develops understanding of airside operations and the broader issues that relate to the management of an airline.  Emphasis is given to airport management, contract management, health and safety, the environment, crisis planning and finance.  The programme is delivered through monthly two-day master classes based at Exeter Training Academy and Exeter College Campus.  Students will also expect to spend a minimum of 10 hours self study per week.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need 80 UCAS tariff points (minimum) from AS, A2 or AVCE programmes, BTEC National Diploma/Certificate, GNVQ Advanced, an appropriate NVQ at level 3, an Access qualification or other qualifications deemed equivalent to the above. Applicants with other industry specific qualifications and experience will also be considered. You must also be currently working within the airline industry.

What can I do after this course/training?

You could progress to the third year of BA (Hons) Aviation Management at London Metropolitan University and/or develop your career within the airside industry.

The course is delivered by lectures, seminars, workshops, group activities and research. Complementing these are guest speaker sessions.
