Advanced Animation and Image Galleries using Flash
Level: Leisure      Part-time  Saturday, 12.00noon-2.30pm
How long is the course/training? 6 weeks (15 hours)

What will I be doing on the course/training?

You will:
·  Learn the basics of Inverse Kinematics its use in Bones to create realistic animation in Flash
·  Apply bones to shapes and symbols
·  Animate armatures or shape skeletons
·  Apply simple easing to bone animation
·  Boning shapes in Flash
·  Draw bones onto an animal shape
·  Edit bones, re-positioning and moving bones after they have been applied
·  Set constraints to limit the movement of separate joints for more realistic movement
·  View and understand Anchor Points around a shape
·  Remove and manipulate Anchor Points to clean up and simplify a shape ready for animation
·  Check whether the anchor points have been assigned to the correct bones using the Bind Tool
·  Plan and create the poses for the animation
·  Create the walk-cycle step-by-step over the timeline, using guides and rulers
·  Creating an image gallery in Flash
·  Setting up the thumbnail and full-sized images in Photoshop
·  Importing the images into Flash
·  Make thumbnails scroll across the stage
·  Make the gallery clickable to show the larger image
·  Assign a variable to each thumbnail image
·  Create a hover effect for the thumbnails
·  Create a fade-in fade-out animation for the images
·  Stop the gallery from scrolling and disable the buttons while the large image is displayed
·  Create an HTML web page and include the Flash image gallery

What are the entry requirements?

Previous knowledge of Flash is required. Ideally you should first attend the Flash for Interactive Web Content course. You have to know your way around a computer.

How to Apply?

These are recreational and leisure courses and whilst many take place across the city in a range of community venues, you must enrol at college by filling in an application form before the course starts. We cannot take payments at any of our community venues.

How do I study the course/training and how will I be assessed?

You go at your own pace on the courses using detailed handouts, which you can keep. There will also be taught sessions and discussions to help your understanding. There is no exam.

What facilities are there?

All computers have Adobe Flash CS4. The College library and learning centre is available for use by students.

What will the course/training cost me?

Fee: £63.00  Reduced fee: £15.00

Additional costs:

It would be an advantage to obtain a copy of Flash while you are on the course.
