Where do I study/train?
You will be employed within a company and attend college one day a week.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements for Apprenticeships however you need to be in employment. You should have a mind for figures. Maths English and Sciences at GCSE grade C or above will be an advantage, particularly if you plan to progress to the NVQ3 AA or further.
What can I do after this course/training?
As this course launches you directly into work this is an exceptionally good way of building your career and progressing to further training and higher education. We highly recommend that you progress onto the NVQ 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.
What Functional skills will I do?
Functional Skills are essential tools that all Apprentices will potentially use within their job, these are: Application of Number, Communication and IT. These will be completed in much the same way as your NVQ units - you provide evidence to show your competence, knowledge and understanding in each area.

You need to be in employment to do this course.

How do I study the course/training and how will I be assessed?
You will attend college one day a week and learn through lectures and workshops. You will spend the remainder of your working week at your workplace where you put your new skills into practice and learn the particular requirements of your company.You will be assigned a Training Officer who will visit you in your place of work and liaise with your tutor to ensure that everything with your course meets your requirements. Your college tutors will assess you by a combination of college assignments, workplace evidence, AAT simulations, and AAT central assessments. You will sit AAT exams for some of the units.
What facilities are there?
You will have access to a learning resource centre. There is a refectory in Victoria House.
What will the course/training cost me?
Apprenticeships are fully funded if you are aged 16-18 on commencement of the programme. If you are aged 19-24 funding is limited and your employer will have to pay a contribution of £75 per month towards the training as well as paying your wage.
Additional costs:
ou and your employer are expected to pay your annual membership to AAT and recommended books.
