Administration and Secretarial Skills
Level: Level 3      Full-time 
How long is the course/training? This is a one-year course.

What will I be doing on the course/training?

This course covers Office Administration together with a wide range of practical office skills. During the course learners will work towards the following qualifications:

Certificate in Administration Level 3:

  • Producing complex business documents
  • Understanding functions and roles within business organisations
  • Supporting recruitment and selection procedures
  • Verbal communication in business
  • Organise a business event

Certificate in Text Processing Level 3

What are the entry requirements?

You must have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Administration and Secretarial skills course.

What can I do after this course/training?

Successful completion of the course will equip you for immediate employment as an administrator or secretary. Individuals can also progress onto Higher Education.

What residential/work experience is there?

You will do two weeks’ work experience.

How do I study the course/training and how will I be assessed?

You will be taught within a group of approximately 18 learners. Some of the work will be assignment based but you will also undertake real practical tasks on your own or working as a member of small team. The qualifications are assessed by external examinations, observation and written work that is assessed internally and then externally moderated.

What facilities are there?

You will have access to a learning resource centre. There is a refectory in Victoria House.

What will the course/training cost me?

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are resident in the UK and the European Economic Area for the last 3 years. (You must be under 19 on 31st August in the calendar year that you start your course).
