Adult Learning Grant
If you are over 19 and studying a level 2 or 3 qualification for the first time you may be able to receive and Adult Learning Grant (ALG) of up to £30 per week while you are at college (depending on your income, and your partner's if applicable, over the past tax year). For more information,

Learner Support Fund
The Learner Support Fund is available for students aged over 19 (as at the 31st August) who require financial assistance for essential course costs, such as materials, uniforms and travel.

Care to Learn
Students under 20 years old can get financial help with their childcare costs from Care to Learn.
Care to Learn will pay for:
- Childcare costs while you learn
- A deposit if one is charged
- Travel expenses to and from your child care provider

If you are aged over 20, please seek advice from your local Job Centre Plus in the first instance. You may also be eligible for the Learner Support Fund (see above).
During the first few weeks of your course, your tutor will take you through your induction programme, which will include collecting your ID badge, getting a computer log-in and a chance to look around the Learning Centres and find our cafes. They will also discuss your goals and targets for the course.
