Counsellors

The college has a team of counsellors who provide confidential support on anything that is bothering you - college worries, home concerns, personal problems or relationship difficulties.

You can contact our counsellors yourself, or via your tutor, nurses or any member of staff in the college.

Medical Advice and Care

We have a medical room on the Hele Road site that is open during term time 9am - 4.30pm where you can go with any health concern and gain advice and support from our nurses. If you cannot get to the medical room then you can contact the nurses on the phone 01392 205455.

The nurses also support tutors with health education sessions and also liaise with GPs and other health professionals on your behalf.

Financial Support

Our Bursary Scheme is funded by the Government to help you to complete your studies if you are in financial hardship.

Those most in need will be eligible for a £1,200 a year. This includes young people in care, care leavers, young people receiving income support and young people who are receiving both Employment and Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance. Young people eligible for income support will include some young parents, young people estranged from their families and those whose parents have died.

If that does not apply to you, but you are facing financial hardship, you can apply to the Bursary Scheme to claim help with the cost of equipments, transport, food and other course related costs.

Applications are assessed on a needs basis; evidence of need is required with any application made. The assistance you receive is discretionary and will always be conditional on your attendance and with you keeping within the terms of the 'Student Code of Conduct'; which you sign at the start of your course.

For many students facing financial hardship, the Bursary scheme can be the 'key' in enabling them to succeed at Exeter College and secure a better future.
