Exeter College was visited by Ofsted inspectors during the week of 5th March 2012 in the country’s first ever no-notice, unannounced Ofsted pilot inspection of a college.

The Inspectors graded the college for its:

• Outcomes for learners
• Teaching and Learning
• Leadership and Management

Exeter College was awarded a grade 1 - Outstanding - in all of these areas and an overall grade of Outstanding!

Inspectors highlighted our strong Learner Voice, success rates (placing us within the top 5% of colleges in England) and our support for personal development and employability skills. They also commented on our teachers’ high expectations, innovative teaching, energy and pace and excellent subject knowledge.

Student Awards celebrations

We have an annual glitzy college student awards ceremony as well as faculty own celebrations throughout the year. We celebrate students who have gone the extra mile, contributed in a special way to their course, have succeeded against the odds or have really put in the extra work that’s needed to excel. They're great fun events.

World Skills champions

With London hosting the World Skills competition in 2011 we're proud that we have 5 regional winners looking to triumph against other young skilled trainees and students in this year's competition and into the future.

• Beacon Award winners two years running for e-learning resources and partnerships with schools.
• Association of Colleges' Gold Award for two of our famous ex-students – Spencer Dale, Bank of England Executive Director and Michael Caines MBE Chef and Hotelier.
• Healthy College, Investor in People, Green College, Positive about Disability, Sunday Times top 100 best public sector and charitable organisations to work for and we are working towards Fairtrade status.
• National marketing awards for our Flybe partnership and marketing teams; Government recognition for our student welfare team; excellent financial health status for our finance team.
