Accommodation

If you need somewhere to live while you are studying at Exeter College, you can look at the following options. Please note we do not have any accommodation at Exeter College.

Opal 1

We are working in partnership with Opal 1 Exeter to provide a high standard of accommodation for our students. Opal 1 Exeter is just a short walk from Exeter College, so you can enjoy studying and living in this vibrant student city. Please click here for more information about Opal 1.

Shared Houses

You can rent one room in a house and share facilities such as the bathroom and kitchen with other students. You pay for your own food and share bills. Usually you will need to be in Exeter (perhaps in a B&B or hotel) for 2 or 3 weeks while you visit a selection of rooms before signing a contract. These rooms have not been visited by Exeter College. You will need someone in Exeter to sign the contract who is aged over 18. Rooms in a shared house can cost from £65 per week (room only). You should also allow another £60-70 per week for food, washing and bills for electricity, etc.

Flats / Bedsits

These can be found in the local newspaper, the Express and Echo, on a Thursday and cost from around £65 per week for a bedsit (room only with shared bathroom and facilities). One-bedroom flats are most expensive from £450 per month. You will need someone in Exeter to sign the contract who is aged over 18.

Hotels / Bed and Breakfast (B&B)

Small hotels or Bed and Breakfast (B&B) guesthouses are suitable for short stays while you look for permanent accommodation. Prices start at around £25 per person per night. Only breakfast is included. You must buy all other meals in the college or in a restaurant.
