Kate McGinley
While at the College Kate studied PE, Biology and Psychology A2 levels. During
her time at college she was playing and captained the Exeter College netball 1st
Team, as well as playing regional one league for Plymouth Marjon saints, Playing
in the National Talent league (NTL) for Team Bath and also represented England
U19s in the 2009 European Championships.
She was part of the Team Bath NTL team for 4 seasons and was in the England
youth squads for 3 years. The grades that Kate achieved enabled her to get onto
the Coach Education and Sports Development Degree at the University of Bath.
Whilst studying for her degree, Kate is part of one of the few netball high
performance centers in the country, that provides her with extra technical, gym
and conditioning sessions, where they train up to 18 hours a week as well as
playing 3 matches.
Kate is currently playing for the University of Bath first
team, Team Bath toucans premier 1 Team and Team Bath Super League. It is Kate’s
first season in the Super League squad which is a huge step up for her regarding
training and matches but she is looking forward to being challenged and playing
amongst the top netballers in the country.
